I love going to Transilvania for a weekend walk.
A weekend outside Bucharest makes a huge difference to life and your feelings. Fresh air, wonderful sunshine and stunning views.
I never tire of looking at Bran Castle.
Getting my 10,000 steps here could not be easier!
Even the sunsets are special. If you ever want a wonderful holiday, Romania has it all!
I love my daily walks through the green parks. I plug myself into gripping 19th century audio books and before I know it, I am at work!
I love the long straight tree filled roads I pass.
I wander past greenhouses, complete with endless tomato growing experiments.
Past a tractor which doubles up as a statue in the agricultural college (our college is conveniently in the middle of town!)
Even the main road is under trees!
Endless open walks to try.
And back to the lake, which is always a joy to see…
Everywhere is still and undisturbed.
România has a part of the park, dedicated to the founders of the EU. Imagine that in Britain! Notice the EU flag flies without any other.

Into yet more parks and then into work… walking 10,000 steps has never been so easy!
I am walking to school each day, and enjoy the local lake.
I photoed this in the morning and by the time I got to school, Google photos had sent me this wonderful enhanced version. I cross this bridge each day on my walk.
This is such a tempting place to stop and check my emails and messengers on the way…
These water sprayers tend to catch me out as I go across the grass… one moment all is dry, the next your legs get soaked.
This was a beautiful climbing plant which set itself off nicely against a Romanian blue sky.
Every day I pass by the church I got married in and I am always reminded of the good life I am living…

Finally I get into my schools streets and yet more trees!
These are my ‘pet pigeons’ which nest where I change and get ready for another day…
This is how I prepare myself for each day. I come in feeling, happy, relaxed and ready for whatever the world throws at me… I will try to show you more snaps each day from now on.
By sticking to a school diet, I am certain to have all my basics covered. This is my cooked meal of the day.
Today was potato, chicken and alphabet soup. Missing out the bread is tough, but as I have carbohydrate from potatoes, completely unneeded…
Lost 1 kg when I weighed yesterday… this is the easiest diet I have ever tried! It is less of a diet and more a change of lifestyle, which means who knows where my weight will finally plateau out.
It is also a super easy way of making sure I have all 5 portions of fruit and veg eaten every day!
I have a cunning place. With cereal in the morning, a school meals and beetroot smoothie in the evening after a 10,000 step walk.
The target is 1kg a week… 20 kg, 20 weeks what could possibly go wrong?
I have ditched the bread and any snacks and boy do I feel hungry! I am working on the idea that feeling hungry is a good thing, as at least my body is having to get its energy from somewhere else.
In the evenings, I am now eating a healthy beetroot smoothie…

One medium or 2 small beetroots – Lowers blood pressure and makes you more athletic
A mix of seeds and bran to help digestion – just to make it into a superfood.

It is a really great evening meal. I did try to eat one for breakfast but it looked way to much for a morning and so I tried to eat half one and felt really hungry well before lunch.
Please note due to the high sugar content in the beetroot, this is an ideal food to eat if you have reduced your carbohydrate levels somewhere else or eat only every few days…
